Fifth Third Bank starts East Coast expansion
Bank Builders commenced construction on the Pembroke Pines Branch.  This is the start of many more in the pipeline for Fifth Third.  Construction will be complete by May. Today, Fifth Third operates 16 affiliates with over 1,291 full-service locations in 12 different states. In 1948, it became the first financial institution in the United States to establish a charitable foundation.
